Our Design Online Tool is very easy to use whether you already have a design but may want to make some edits or you're starting fresh. Here is our guide to designing an effective eye-catching custom flyer using our design tool.
1. Plan Your Content This design tool was created to simplify your process so planning and organizing are very important when designing a flyer.. This will make the process smoother and you using our design online tool more like a breeze.
Remember flyers are meant to get information out although you want it to stand out the whole purpose of a flyer is to share important information that you want the subject that has the flyer to know about.
Also, remember a flyer is not a brochure or book. Less is more. Consider a flyer more like a banner/poster design. If you create a flyer think about who are you ( and this should be really short and straight to the point. what are you advertising, who are you advertising to , and your call to action! Because you're not creating flyers just to be creating it. You're creating to turn every person that holds your flyer into your client.
2. Find The One! (Image that is)
I know it can be intimidating when trying to find the right imagery for your artwork that will represent whatever you're advertising on your flyer because outside of clipart and google photos many non-designers don't know any other options. Fortunately, that's what we're here for! There are tons of resources out there if you know where to look for these resources. Stock Images will be your best friend.
IStockPhoto powered by +Getty Images is a great stock website. We suggest stock images because it was created for designers to use. When you download a photo istock, you're purchasing a royalty-free license that gives you the rights to use that photo in a wide variety of uses, including advertising, publishing, websites, blogs and presentations. Google isn't like that because you don't know who photo you're taking and it can put you and your business at risk if you're taking a photo that is copywritten.
3. Make That Image Your Background
You really only need 1-2 focal images for your flyer. Flyers are a smaller version of a billboard it just has a bit more information. Here is an example of how we took one image of a family in front of their home and made it the focal point because Pinnacle is an Insurance Group that offers premier protection for people and property.
4. Add Big Text
This is extremely important because this can make or break you. You want just enough text on the front to send out the message and call to action but you don't want to take away from the message that you're trying to display. Like the above photo you see...1. Their logo
2. What they specialize in
3. Their Call to Action with phone number & website.
But keep in mind depending on what you're advertising you can add more text in the back. Example here...
They explained WHO they are, WHAT they provide, WHEN they are available, and HOW to contact them. It's straight to the point. We have another focal image in the background but the main focus is the text.
Here is another example of how we display text and images front to back on a vertical flyer.
